6 IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS OF HUMAN RESOURCE MANGEMENT


In an Organization human resource managers plays different  functions which are very essential and important for any organization .in past times any one can perform the functions of any one .But now trend has changed and different different departments has emerged like production department,IT department and many other and the HR department which is to control the organization staffs or people .Now a days we say optimum utilization of goods but in past times there is only over utilization take place. No one even care about the employees that's why it emerged.Now most have there HR managers.some functions of HRM(Human resource management)

1.Manufacturing functions
  
               Planning- It is a future course of action that is deciding in advance what we are going to do in future.planning is not a single time approach it keeps on running within the organization.planning takes much time but it would be implemented or not it is decided by them.

            Organizing- It involves creating a structure of the organization along with various management levels departments various designation or post because .the entire work of the organization is distributed within the departments.

            Staffing- It is the process in which the HR's recruit and select the right person for a right job .It is the way through which you can select best candidates for the organization. It is not that you just select the candidate & its over you have to keep an eye on them and monitor them.The designation are filled by employees in staffing.

 Directing/leading- In order to avoid any confusion in working ,a leader is appointed to show the path of performing job in a effective and efficient manner.the show the right direction which is organization goals and vision.
   Controlling- Once the employees start performing It is to be check whether they are performing as expected or not . If There is any deviation from the expectation certain majors which be taken ,at this consider as controlling.
In simple ways they keep an eye on them means monitoring and control them so that they do not do wrong or ineffective thing for the organization.

2.Operative functions
    
 Job analysis- It is the process of collecting  all the related information about a particular job. The two major component of job analysis are :-
job description and job specification Job description focuses on the roles and responsibility attached with a particular job .Job specification are the minimum criteria to perform the particular job.

   Human resource planning- It is the process of ensuring the right number and right kind of people at the right job at a right place and at right time that is maintaining  the optimum no. of employees.

   Recruitment and selection- Recruitment  is the process of inviting applications from the suitable candidates to apply for job in an organization .A talent pool is created due  to application of various applicants. Selecting the most suitable candidates from the available pool is known as selecting.

   Induction- It is the process of making familiar a newly recruited candidate in an organization .The candidate made aware of the culture and working pattern of the organization.

   Internal mobility- When an organization search for talented employee s within their own organization they go for transfer promotions and sometime demotions to fill up the vacancies .hence the movement of the employees within the organization is known as internal mobility.

3.Development functions
    
 Training- It is the process of enhancing a particular skill of an employee .Training is done for a particular activity, for a particular task or a job.

   Development- It is the process of an enhancing various skills and overall personality of an employee. Development needs different skills and knowledge regarding different job that is development but it does not mean that it is necessary  for a development.

   Career Planning- It is the process of projecting and satisfying the career goals of an employee .Sometimes organization Too focus on the career goal of an employee by providing various help to such prospective candidates. 

   HRD- It stands for Human Resource Development . It is the process of enhancing and developing the thought process of the employees in all the areas of an organization . It is a futuristic approach where the inner potential of an employee is identified and developed.

4.Motivation and compensation functions
         
        Motivation- It is the driving force which compels an employee to show a desires behavior. Motivation is necessary for any individual it give the power to perform well in an organization.
 
                    Job design- job design is a process of creating role profile of a particular job in an organization .It is designed on the basis of available resource s ,vision, and mission of an organization .vision means where you want to be and missions are the steps to reach  there.

                    Job evaluation-Job evaluation is a process of analyzing the relative worth of a particular job in comparison to other jobs in an organization hierarchy .

                    Performance appraisal- It is the process of evaluating the performance of an employee and accordingly rewarding punishing an employee.If an employee is doing excellent work the performance appraisal is also excellent an if not then not.

                   Compensation Administration- It is the process of compensating the efforts of the employee in monetary terms .
For example salary and wags the system compensation administration.

                   Incentives and benefits- The extra monetary amount given to an  employee for extra performance is known as incentives while the benefits and facilities provided to an employee regardless to his or her performance known as fringe benefits.
For example transportation housing facilities.

5.Maintainence functions
here a talented employee is motivated to be loyal and committed towards the organization.

   Health and Safety-Health measure include proper ventilation drinking water and availability of the light in the working premises.
In India the most hazardous process is of coal mines and we have separate laws for these employees.If an organization  wants to start operations in a commercial building they have to install file fighting equipments for the safety of employees. 

   Employee welfare-These section talks about fringe benefits are given to an employee for these employment in the organization and not due to there performance .For example Transportation ,housing  subsidies canteen ,loan ,etc.

   Social Security Measures-
A)Provident fund a amount is given to an employee usually after his or her retirement or death .A small amount of money is deducted for an employee's salary every month and is deposited in the Pf Account of that employee which is maintained by the government.

B)ESIC are the medical facilities provided to workers or employees having salary less than RS.10000.

C)Gratuity is an amount paid by the employer to the employee after his retirement or death for the loyalty and commitment towards the organization.

D)Medical benefits are the facilities provided to the executives where they get medical treatment on subsidies rates.

6.Integration functions
    It is the combined force which binds the employees to work for common Organization goal and it result in a combined energy known as synergy.

 Grievance redressal- Grivance is an official problem related with working his salary and wages etc. and if it is reported to the top level management where the CEO's and directors are.Or the owners of an organization .the solution to such kind of problem is known as redressal.

   Discipline- It is the abidence of rules and regulations which s experted o the followed by each and every employees.

   Team work-It involves the combined working of all the employees towards common organization goals with the generation of synergy.

   Collective Bargaining-It is the process of reaching an organization between the parties where both the parties in win - win situation.

   Trade union-They are the official representative of employees in order to safeguard their interest and avoid exploitation.

   Industrial Relations-It is the relationship Between employer and employee ,employee and employee, employer and employer and wants to maintain harmonious relations in order to avoid any conflict.
